Splash Mountain is a popular water log ride that is located at three Walt Disney Company theme parks. This article provides an overview of the Animatronics for the attraction that is in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida.
The trade name Animatronics refers to the robotic figures that Walt Disney Parks and Resorts uses to “animate” or add motion to characters that are a part of the many rides that they have created. Animatronics is a trade name that is used by The Walt Disney Company to reference the robotics that they have created. Splash Mountain is one of the many rides that features the use of Animatronics to tell a story.
Splash Mountain Animatronics
The Walt Disney Company made extensive use of Animatronics on Splash Mountain to help tell a story that features Brer Fox, Brer Bear, and Brer Rabbit. Those characters are the main Animatronics that are located throughout the attraction. Most, if not all, of the Animatronic characters are located inside the mountain and are not featured when guests are outside of the mountain. In addition to the main three characters, frogs, vultures, birds, alligators or crocodiles, and a steamboat are part of the Animatronics display for the attraction.

Animatronic Story Line
The story for the ride is based on a portion of the historic Walt Disney movie Song of The South. The robotics for the log ride are all based on characters from a portion of the movie.
At Disneyland California, the ride uses Animatronics that were from the attraction America Sings. In comparison, The Walt Disney World version seems to have Animatronics that were specifically made for Splash Mountain.
