Here we cover the details about Space Mountain photos on board the roller coaster, the camera on the ride, and showcase some pictures of the ride that we have selected. This page covers the Space Mountain attraction that is in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World Resort, Florida.
Space Mountain Photos - In Ride Camera
While on board the roller coaster, there is a location where a photo is taken of the train. The location of the Space Mountain camera at the turn that begins the climb to the top, which is right after the end of the blue tunnel. The camera uses a flash bulb to take the picture in the dark. This is the location of the Space Mountain flash. There will be two flashes of light that will indicate that the photo has been taken. You can see the space mountain photo that was taken or purchase copies of it at the gift shop area (located at the exit of the ride). You can also use Disney’s PhotoPass to obtain the images.
Space Mountain Pictures
Below are some of the Space Mountain pictures that we have selected and use on the site. These photos will help to give you a visual of the building and area surrounding the ride. There are also some images of the interior of the building and the ride itself. There are not many photos of the ride while it is in motion, however, the best way to see the ride is to watch one of the many Space Mountain videos that people have created.

Space Mountain Track Layout Blueprint Walt Disney World
- Details
- By NavFile
On this page we go over the Space Mountain track layout for the indoor roller coaster in the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney Word Resort in Bay Lake, Florida. Also mentioned and shown on the page is a Space Mountain blueprint or layout that we have created.
Space Mountain has an interesting track layout that involves many twists and turns. Space Mountain has two different sides, Omega and Alpha, and there are two different track layouts. Each side is basically a mirror image of the other side. Since both sides are technically the same, we will discuss the alpha side, which is popular. The Alpha side can be considered on of the “popular” side because it is the side that FastPass+ guests are directed to. Space Mountain is one of the top FastPass rides in the Magic Kingdom and guests, including us, frequently use the FastPass+ program to get on the roller coaster quickly. You can learn more about the Space Mountain and FastPass + here.

Omega Side Track Layout
The Omega side has the opposite turns of the above track layout description for the Alpha side. You would just change left to right and right to left to get the layout for the Omega side of the ride. We previously mentioned that Omega was the reverse of Alpha; however, that wording could lead to some confusion as Omega does not operate in "reverse" when compared to Alpha.
If you would like to get an overview of what the ride is like and a better idea on the track layout visit our Space Mountain lights on or video page. Both of those pages have videos of Space Mountain with the lights, which allows you to see how the track is setup.
Space Mountain Blueprint - Track Layout
Currently we are unable to create a detailed track layout blueprint for the ride. The description above is the best we have at this moment. You can get an idea of how the ride’s tracks are laid out and where all the turns and drops are. The ride is “squeezed” inside of the building very well by using lots of turns to keep the ride within the confined area of the building. Combining that design with the darkness complicates verifying all of the turns and drops accurately. When we are able to create a blueprint for the ride we will post it here.

Space Mountain Hidden Mickey Mouse Walt Disney World
- Details
- By NavFile
The Space Mountain roller coaster in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort does have a couple of hidden Mickey Mouses as a part of the ride and the building. Below is an overview on some of the "hidden Mickeys".
Space Mountain Hidden Mickey Mouse Easter Egg On the Ride
According to some websites, there is an asteroid that is in the shape of Mickey Mouse that is displayed during the ride (not verified by us).
The cluster of stars or planets that can be seen while on the climb / incline portion and throughout the ride, has what looks to be a hidden Mickey Mouse.
Some places are showing that another Space Mountain ride, Space Mountain at Disneyland has a “hidden” Mickey Mouse that makes up the in seat speakers. This hidden Mickey Mouse is only found on that version of the ride and is not found at the Walt Disney World version.
In The Line
There are hidden Mickey Mouses in the line. At the “zigzag line area”, near the loading bay / station, the video screen displays a Mickey Mouse hat as one of the items to store in the mesh bag that is located on the ride. It is displayed during the portion that says “Stow Away All Space Cargo”. An “Easter egg” is also displayed on the screen, which is an image of Stitch from Leo & Stitch.
The Building
On the exterior of the Space Mountain building, actually the Tomorrowland Light & Power Company building, there are two gears and a clock that are in the shape of Mickey Mouse at the top of the building. You can see this in the photo below. The photo of the building is after the Video Arcade sign was removed from the building. With the Video Arcade sign removed, the Mickey Mouse logo is now much easier to see. Walt Disney World did a good job in blending this hidden Mickey Mouse as it is not that noticeable.

Those are some of the hidden Mickey Mouses that we have found for this ride. If you have a located other ones please feel free to contact us. Also if you are interested in learning more about Space Mountain at the Magic Kingdom, visit the other pages here on the site.
Space Mountain Sign Walt Disney World

In this article, our team goes over the various Space Mountain signs at the roller coaster in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort, Florida.
The Space Mountain sign is currently the green and blue “SPACE MOUNTAIN” sign that is located at the front entrance to the ride. The sign is connected to a tower like structure that is in between the stand-by entrance sign and the FastPass+ entrance sign. That is the main sign and also the logo for Space Mountain. Below you can see the sign at the Magic Kingdom park.

The Three Entrance Signs
There are many other signs that are posted throughout the ride. The stand-by, FastPass+ entrance, and ride height restriction / warning signs are some of the first signs you will see before entering the ride’s line and waiting area. Featured below are photos of those three signs.
The above Space Mountain Wait Time, FastPass+, and Height Restrictions signs are from a base photo by Theme Park Tourist on Flickr & Wikimedia Commons. Modifed by NavFile. Photo released under a Creative Commons License.
More Signs
Other signs that are apart of the ride include the Starport Seventy Five signs that include a representation of the building that houses Space Mountain. The main version of this sign can be seen in the first tunnel after the main entrance. It is located on the right side, which is the side the FastPass+ line is on. The sign is large and is can be seen directly ahead when entering the tunnel. A photo of the sign is displayed below. The Starport 75 logo is also displayed on signs that are further down the tunnel.

Space Mountain Signs For Sale
Right now it looks like Walt Disney World and The Walt Disney Company is not selling any signs that are based off of the signs that are found on the attraction. A replica sign from the ride would be a good piece of merchandise for them to sell. Disney officially sells all of their items online at disneystore.com. You can also find items at other places around web. We have not verified if the Space Mountain gift shop, which is in the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co building is selling any of the signs that are featured on the ride.
If we do find any Space Mountain signs for sale we will list them here.
If your are interested in the signs the ride has, you may also want to visit our logo / art page to learn more about the logo and artwork that the ride features.
Space Mountain Videos Walt Disney World

Our team has selected some of the best Space Mountain videos for the attraction at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World Resort, Bay Lake, Florida. All of the videos that we have selected were found on YouTube and we have created a playlist of the best videos we found. The videos are located below. You can select from the different videos of Space Mountain by clicking on the menu at the top left corner of the video player and selecting the video you want to watch by clicking on it. Below the Space Mountain video player is a description of each of the videos that we have selected.
The first Space Mountain video we selected is from JohnYChen. This is one of the best videos to get an overview of the line, ride experience, and exit line for Space Mountain. The video starts at the start of the line and gives an overview of the whole line up to the loading area. This is good to watch if you are in a Space Mountain queue video. After the line section, you then get a good view of the actual ride. This Space Mountain video also covers the exit area, which includes the moving walkway that is on an uphill incline. Overall the video quality is very good. The video goes all the way up to 1080p 60 frames per second in quality.
Following that Space Mountain Walt Disney World video, is another ride video by SoCal Attractions 360. This video gives a quick overview of the exterior of Space Mountain and the loading area to start out. Next coverage of the ride is given. This is one of best videos to see the actual ride experience clearly. The stars that are projected on the ceiling can be seen clearly in the video. 2160P (4K) quality is available for this video.
The next Space Mountain Disney World video is by iThemePark and gives a good overview of the queue and the ride. The ride portion of the video is shot with nightvision, which gives a different perspective of the roller coaster.
Videos 4 and 5 are of Space Mountain with the lights on. You can what the ride looks like when the lights are on.
Video 6 covers Space Mountain with the lights on from the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover.
The last two videos cover the opening day of Space Mountain in January 1975. Those two Space Mountain videos are great classic videos to see what Space Mountain was link on opening day.
