This article covers the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad logo and sign for the roller coaster that is located in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort, Bay Lake, Florida. An overview of the logos and signs that were created for the ride are covered below. The logo and signs are also displayed below for reference. Also note that the ride is sometimes called BTMRR (shorthand notation).
The Logo for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad’s logo is the one that is located on the sign at the front entrance and the building for the ride. The logo is “Big Thunder Mountain Railroad” written in a Rockwell or similar type of font. The color for the text is yellow and it is placed on a brown background. The yellow used in the logo was likely selected to be of reference to the yellow metal that is featured in the ride. The logo design also matches with the time period that the ride is showcasing, the gold rush era.
Another “logo” that is featured on the attraction is the Big Thunder Mountain Mining Co. logo. The logo uses a specialized “western” type of font, with two versions. Both the ride and Mining Co. logos, displayed on signs for the ride, are featured below.

Signs For Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
The signs for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad are similar to the logos because the logos are placed on the signs. The main sign for the attraction is the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad sign that is featured at the front entrance and the building of the ride. In addition to those signs, there are numerous signs that are displayed throughout the ride’s line or queue area. Below are photos of some of those signs.

Does Walt Disney World Sell Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Signs?
We have not seen Walt Disney World selling any of the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad signs as souvenirs at the park. ShopDisney has a sign for Frontierland that has a Big Thunder Mountain Railroad logo on it. The item can be found here on the shopDisney website. A great idea that Walt Disney Parks and Resorts could create is portfolio of replica signs that matches the signs found on the ride. Replica signs and other products are always great for fans of this quality attraction.
