In this article we cover the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad height limit requirement. This page focuses on the height requirement for the ride in Frontierland at the Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World Resort, Bay Lake, Florida (Orlando).
The height limit for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is 40 inches or 3.33 feet (3 1/3 feet). Using the metric system the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad height limit is 101.6 centimeters or 1.016 meters. A person or guest that wants to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad must be at least 40 inches tall to board the roller coaster. The 40 inch minimum height requirement for the attractions is not the tallest height requirement in the Magic Kingdom, however, it is close to the highest. Space Mountain holds the highest height limit at 43 inches.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Height Limit Sign
Walt Disney World has setup height limit or height restrictions signs for all of the minimum height requirement attractions in the Magic Kingdom. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (BTMRR) has one of these signs. The sign is located at the front entrance for the ride, right underneath the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad sign. The sign has a “measuring stick” attached to it so you can check if your guests meet the height requirement.
To ensure you have the most accurate height requirement, double check the Walt Disney World website or the mobile apps. Walt Disney World usually does not change the height requirements for rides once they are set. We will update this page if Walt Disney World makes changes to the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad height requirement.
