NavFile is now providing ownCloud services as part of its Business Solutions division. ownCloud is an open-source enterprise file sharing application that provides file sync capabilities like Dropbox and Box.

The services were started based on NavFile’s recognition of a need for install, management, and hosting services for ownCloud. Our services for the application can be found on our ownCloud services page.

We have four focus areas for our services, install, migration, management, and hosting. In addition, we provide general consulting and support for ownCloud. LDAP integration is a key subarea that we are also providing support for. Other services that we have planned including custom branding for the ownCloud web user interface.

ownCloud is a great system for businesses to use because it allows them to remain in control of their data. The system is hosted where you want to host it, in the cloud or on your servers. The app also provides all of the functionality that cloud-based products like Dropbox and Box provide. Also, ownCloud is open-source and businesses are in control of the overall application.

David Aughinbaugh II, our Research and Business Analyst will be leading the development and management of our services. As a user and administator of both ownCloud and Nextcloud applications, David is prepared to ensure that NavFile’s services help businesses with their file sharing needs.
